A week full of activities and interactions:
As the Independence day of Indonesia approaches, Islam schools have a week long celebration where they had inter-school competitions and such. Al - Amjad, over the weekend, had a camping experience for the students to be trained in the way of life. Giving recognitions from the camp, . The school conducts the concluding rights of their scout activities after their camping. They held this every year awarding the best scouts in the school. The best scout for both girls and boys. After the awarding ceremony, we had a picture with the headmaster and some of the recipients of the awards.
In the afternoon, we indulged ourselves with the students to play with them galaasin (Patintero in the context of filipino games), we grouped ourselves with the students and its a draw.
After that we went home, we, with our buddy, tried sate mandura four our dinner (it is like barbecue) they have beef and chicken sate.
As the week progresses, the whole school had divulged all the students to various activities ranging from their primary school to their high school students With the students and teachers, we got to play tarik tambang (tug of war)
The Elementary students played Makankerupuk. it is like a food grabbing challenge where the students are seated and not allowed to use their hands to eat a biscuit or such in a matter of time
Aside from these activities, they also have activities that involves the academic formation of the children. They organised "ranking satu" (Similiar to the context of Quiz Bee). Each class has representatives to play for their section. The game is divided into rounds to such came their is only one winner to be proclaimed in the game.
The school also promotes the talents of the students, with Al -Amjad Got Talent (similar to British Got Talent) and we got to judge in the preliminary round of the program. The final round was preceded by the school headmaster and the organizer of the contest
As the Independence day approaches, students prepare so much from the formation to held the ceremony. As the Indonesians commemorates to the flag, we the sea teachers. also be part of their commemoration of Independence.
